Arkansas Northeastern College is a two year school of higher education that was started in 1975, and offers opportunity for area students young and old to advance their education. |

The 5,000-acre "Big Lake" area provides fishermen and hunters with a unique opportunity to enjoy their sports with just a 16-mile ride from the center of town. The Mississippi River is just 6 miles in the other direction. For golfers, there is the Blytheville Country Club, which offers, in addition to golf, tennis, summer swimming, and year round dining facilities. The municipal golf course is conveniently located for those that just want to play golf. Walker Park is centrally located and provides residents with a pleasant place to picnic, use the walking track, play tennis, summer swimming, fishing, or just watching the ducks swim. There is a bowling alley, civic center, 3-screen movie theatre, YMCA, and we are just one hour from two major cities that offer additional recreational opportunities and shopping. A new recreation center featuring an 18 hole professional level golf course and several baseball and soccer fields is available for family fun! There is a nine hole golf course for youngster's who are just getting started with the game.
